MISSION STATEMENT
We will build an institution the likes of which has never been seen; one that will be a benefit and a blessing to those associated with it.

Service to Community
Founded in 1915, the Key West Woman’s Club is the island’s oldest continuously operating nonprofit organization, with a mission deeply rooted in community service, philanthropy, and historic preservation. Guided by the motto “Qui Non Proficit Deficit” (“He who does not advance, falls behind”), the Club supports Key West and Monroe County through ongoing contributions to local nonprofits, made possible by the fundraising efforts of its dedicated membership.
Throughout its history, the Club has become a cornerstone of the community, assisting schools, civic programs, and organizations in need. As stewards of the historic Hellings Curry Museum, members honor the legacy of the Hellings Curry family while preserving the rich history of Key West. Their charitable efforts not only reflect a commitment to the island’s past, but also a vision for a stronger, more connected future.
Some of the non-profits supported by the Key West Woman’s Club include: Wesley House, Habitat For Humanity, Samuel’s House, Take Stock in Children, and Key West High School Scholarships. Other non-profit organizations that we support can be found under the Restaurant Card tab.
Celebrating a Century of Service
In 2025, the KWWC commemorated its 110th anniversary with the Key West Historic Days Celebration, a four-day event highlighting the club’s enduring legacy. Activities included museum tours, panel discussions, live music, and culinary events, all centered around the Hellings Curry Museum . This celebration not only honored the club’s past achievements but also reaffirmed its ongoing commitment to community enrichment
The Key West Woman’s Club building has received recognition by the National Historic Preservation Board. The building, one of the few privately owned mansions remaining on historic Duval Street is also sustained by the efforts of the members of the Key West Woman’s Club.

COLLECT FOR CLUBWOMEN
Keep us, O God, from pettiness; let us be large
In thought, in word, in deed.
Let us be done with fault–finding and leave off self–seeking.
May we put away all pretense and meet each other face to face, with out self–pity and prejudice.
May we never be hasty in judgment and always generous.
Let us take time for all things;
make us grow calm, serene, gentle.
Teach us to put into action our better impulses,
straightforward and unafraid.
Grant that we may realize it is the little things
that create big differences,
that in the big things of life we are as one.
And may we strive to touch and to know
the common woman’s heart of us all,
and Oh Lord God, let us not forget to be kind.
