Welcome to the Key West Woman’s Club
Proudly Serving Our Island Community Since 1915
Step inside a legacy of strength, service, and sisterhood.
Founded in 1915, the Key West Woman’s Club is the longest-standing nonprofit in the Florida Keys. For over a century, we’ve united women with purpose—working together to support local nonprofits, promote education, and preserve our beloved historic home at 319 Duval Street, now the Hellings Curry Museum.
More than just a club, we are a movement of women who get things done. Whether we’re awarding scholarships, restoring our 1892 Queen Anne-style home, hosting events that uplift our community, or simply showing up for one another—you’ll find passion, heart, and action in everything we do.

Empowering Women. Strengthening Community. Preserving History.

Our Story
In 1915, a fearless group of women gathered in Key West with a shared mission: to create positive change in their community. From that meeting, the Key West Woman’s Club was born. Over the past 110 years, our members have championed literacy, supported countless nonprofits, and helped preserve the spirit and history of our island—most notably through the stewardship of our beloved home at 319 Duval Street, now the Hellings Curry Museum. Today, we continue to honor their legacy with the same energy, compassion, and determination. We are proud to be women who get things done.
Our Museum
Step into history at our museum, housed in one of Key West’s few brick structures—a stunning mansion built in 1892 by Captain Martin Luther and Eleanor Curry Hellings, daughter of the prominent merchant William Curry. This 8,334 square foot gem has witnessed the city’s trials and triumphs, including the devastating fire of 1886 that reshaped Key West’s landscape and community. Learn more about our unique history on the Our Museum page.

Saving Eleanor
The historic Hellings Curry Museum, home of The Key West Woman’s Club has begun a capital campaign for future generations. Now 130 years old, the home built by Captain Martin Luther and his wife Eleanor Curry Hellings, needs our help! Though she has been lovingly cared for, a crumbling staircase, old roof and a deteriorating iron balcony must be repaired for safety and aesthetic reasons.
All donations greatly appreciated
